Youth & Children's Writing - Tony Wilson

Tony Wilson has been a judge for the Cancer Council of Victoria's Arts Awards for the last five years. His most recent release for adults was the novel ‘Making News' (Murdoch 2010), which was a prescient in the sense that it touched on tabloid misbehaviour and phone hacking, just before the News of the World scandal hit. Tony also writes children's books, which is why he judges the Children's Writing category of our Arts Awards. Tony's book, 'The Princess and the Packet of Frozen Peas', achieved worldwide success with release in the UK, Canada and the USA. His follow up Hans Christian Andersen adaptation, ‘The Emperor's New Clothes Horse' (Scholastic, 2012, illustrated by Sue de Gennaro) comes out this year.
