Indigenous Visual Art - Megan Cadd-Van den Berg

Lee DarrochMegan Cadd is a proud Yorta Yorta/Wotjobaluk woman, visual artist, curator and Community Development Worker.

Megan has a strong passion for Victorian South East art and engages in projects that highlight this strong art movement. Megan has been involved in several group shows including three in China in 2011. Most recently Megan exhibited her solo show at Bunjilaka Melbourne Museum, and received an award for Work On Paper through the Victorian Indigenous Art Awards.

Her practice includes drawing, painting, installation, sculpture and collage. Megan has collaborated on public installations and community art projects. Her work draws on the beauty and diversity of the land and universe, history and culture. Inspiration comes from her Aboriginal identity, Ancestors, family and community and she is particularly inspired by her Grandfather who painted boomerangs and spears in the 1950s to support his family.

Megan combines her lifelong art practice with raising a family, spiritual healing, community arts work and being an active part of her community.
